ILM Awards and Certificates

 

  • ILM Level 4 Award in Managing Equality and Diversity in an Organisation

Course description:
This qualification is for managers, team leaders and other staff with responsibility for promoting equality and diversity. Learners will gain a solid foundation in understanding the law and influencing internal policies to champion equality and diversity in the teams they manage.

 

Guide Learning Hours:
12 hrs, including induction and tutorial support (covered over 2 days)

 

Credit value:
Minimum 4 credits

 

Structure:
• Induction 1 hour

• Tutorial support at least 1 hour

• One mandatory unit with a credit value of 4

 

Assessment:
Reflective Review assignment

 

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be practicing or aspiring first line or middle managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.

  • Managing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the Workplace (UK) - Online Course.

Aim of Training:

Enable learners to gain a general awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues in line with UK equality legislation and how to implement policies to champion EDI within the workplace.

 

Objectives of Training:

By the end of the session participants will be able to: -

1. Define equality, diversity and inclusion;

2. Identify related factors that drive the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda and have an impact on the workplace;

3. Recognise how barriers and undesirable stereotypes are created and how they can be removed through recognition of own attitudes and behaviour;

4. Obtain an understanding of equality legislation, terminology, the various forms of discrimination that can occur and workplace obligations;

5. Influence and champion equality, diversity and inclusion within the workplace and in own area of responsibility through improved understanding of different implementation processes and practices.

 

Who the training is for:

This course has been designed for anyone wishing to develop a general awareness and understanding of EDI issues or as a refresher for those who would like to update their knowledge and awareness. The course is based on UK equality legislation and focuses mainly on the Equality Act 2010 and the responsibilities of organisations and their staff in line with this law.

 

Duration:

The course will take up to 2 hours to complete, although it can be paused and restarted at any time.

 

Modules:

• Module 1 – Defining equality, diversity and inclusion

• Module 2 – Factors that drive the EDI agenda

• Module 3 – Attitudes, prejudice and undesirable stereotypes

• Module 4 – Understanding the Equality Act 2010 in relation to the workplace

• Module 5 – Workplace EDI policies and their implementation

• Module 6 – Staff responsibility for implementing EDI in the workplace

Assessment its done by a multiple choice test:

• Learners will need to score at least 70% to pass in order to receive a certificate

• Learners have 2 further opportunities to take the assessment if they don’t succeed the first time round

• Once learners have passed they can activate and download their certificate

 

How to use the online resource:

This course is accessible online and is designed to be used on your PC, tablet, phone etc. The course contents comprise of 6 modules. The final part will provide further contacts list for additional information and resources. Short tests will be given after particular units to assess understanding and there will be a final assessment task to evaluate learning at the end. To access the course log on to…

 

Costs:

The price of the course is £35 per learner.

 

Completion certificate:

On successful completion of the course you can download a personalised Training Certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
