By Train (London Road Station)

If walking, turn right on leaving the station entrance and cross the road to Granby Street. Continue along Granby Street until you reach the junction with Belvoir Street. Turn right into Belvoir Street and keep walking till you reach the junction of Welford Road and Newarke Street. Proceed to Newarke Street bearing left until you reach Upper Brown Street.

 

TREC is situated in Phoenix Yard, approximately half way down the right hand side of Upper Brown Street as you approach York Road.

 

By Bus

We are near a variety of Bus stops in the City Centre. To check which is the most convenient for you, call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 for public transport information.

 

Alternatively a guide of buses into Leicester City Centre is available on the Leicester City Council website www.leicester.gov.uk. Click on the Transport & Streets page and then choose the Public Transport option.

 

By Car

 

From the M69, M1 Junction 21 and A47 (Hinckley Road) West of Leicester
Leaving the motorway follow the road signs to the centre of Leicester, along Narborough Road. This is initially a dual carriageway merging after approx. one mile into two way traffic. At the end of Narborough Road keep in right-hand lane then at traffic signals turn right onto Hinckley Road (A47) and stay in the middle lane which will bring you to a roundabout. (St. Nicholas Circle). At St Nicholas Circle, bear left (one-way) then take the 1st exit on the left then the immediate right-hand lane and turn right. This will bring you to a set of traffic lights which lead into Newarke Street. Get into the right hand lane then take the 1st turn into Upper Brown Street. TREC is situated in Phoenix Yard, approximately half way down the right hand side of Upper Brown Street as you approach York Road.


From A46 North of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs proceeding to the roundabout at Belgrave Gate. Take the 3rd exit which brings you to St Margaret’s Way. Proceed forward past two sets of traffic lights bearing right and go under the underpass. This will bring you to a set of traffic lights which lead into Newarke Street. Get into the right hand lane then take the 1st turn into Upper Brown Street. TREC is situated in Phoenix Yard, approximately half way down the right hand side of Upper Brown Street as you approach York Road.

 

From the A6 South of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs along London Road. Proceed past the train station. At the traffic lights on the junction with Granby Street turn right and follow the road bearing to the left past the Leicester Mercury building and proceed forward to the next roundabout. (St.George’s Roundabout). Take the 2nd left and bearing left follow the road till the next roundabout. Take the 2nd exit which brings you to St Margaret’s Way. Proceed forward past two sets of traffic lights bearing right and go under the underpass. This will bring you to a set of traffic lights which lead into Newarke Street. Get into the right hand lane then take the 1st turn into Upper Brown Street. TREC is situated in Phoenix Yard, approximately half way down the right hand side of Upper Brown Street as you approach York Road.

 

From the A47 East of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs along Uppingham Road and proceed towards the city centre. At St. George’s roundabout take the 4th exit and follow the road forward bearing left until you reach the next roundabout (Belgrave Gate roundabout). Take the 2nd exit which brings you to St Margaret’s Way. Proceed forward past two sets of traffic lights bearing right and go under the underpass. This will bring you to a set of traffic lights which lead into Newarke Street. Get into the right hand lane then take the 1st turn into Upper Brown Street. TREC is situated in Phoenix Yard, approximately half way down the right hand side of Upper Brown Street as you approach York Road.

 

Parking
Parking is at the Newarke Street car park by the side of Leicester College. The entrance is from York Road. Parking is free for Blue Badge holders within the car park. There is no on-site parking. There is limited on street parking (double yellow lines) for blue badge holders on Upper Brown Street.

 

Entrance to TREC’s building is through the archway to Phoenix Yard, and via an automatic door on the left-hand side. TREC’s reception is situated on the second floor and can be accessed via two ten-person lifts, each fitted with Braille buttons and voice information. The lift buttons are very large, enabling operation by virtually all disabled people.
